We are pleased to introduce our new product which will be a reliable source of electricity for your appliances.
The standalone photovoltaic system from the Sunnywatt Island range is a compact unit for locations without a service line. During its development, special emphasis was put on the versatility and reliability of the solution. Depending on the power required, the units are offered in the Sunnywatt Island ranges 600, 1000 and 2500.
How does it all work?
Photovoltaic panels are the sole source of the electricity in the system. The number and position of the panels need to be appropriately projected according to the type of operation. 1 – 8 monocrystalline Sunnywatt 180W panels can be connected to the system.
The units are suitable for ensuring the operation of common appliances with lower power consumption, e.g. for domestic electric appliances, lighting, security alarms, remote control and monitoring or the operation of garden pumps or smaller domestic waterworks; no major maintenance is needed.
System design:
All components except for the PV panels are placed in a box sized 60x60x25 (w x h x d), or 40x60x25, which, with the IP65 shielding, ensures sufficient protection in indoor as well as outdoor environments. It is advisable, however, to install at least a simple shed and a low support to protect the system outdoors.
Inside the box, there is a regulator providing for appropriate charging of accumulators, 2 accumulators, a 24V/230V inverter, protection and, if required, overvoltage protection.
How to choose the correct type of system?
Although the information below may enable you to select from our product range, we recommend you discuss suitable configurations and mounting details with us. Our technicians will be more than happy to answer your questions.
- First, we need to specify what exactly we need to supply power to (i.e., what type of load, maximum and average power consumption). Since the purchase price of photovoltaic applications is rather high, it is always advisable to try to minimize one’s own consumption, even if we were to buy new, energy saving appliances, e.g. exchanging light bulbs for economy compact fluorescent lamps, a notebook instead of a PC etc.Since the starting current for motor loads (e.g. pumps, electric tools) is often several times higher than the rated current, it is advisable to opt for a higher output power (the Sunnywatt Island 1000 or 2500 range).
- How often are we going to operate the appliance? At weekends, only in summer, or throughout the entire year? If it is to be operated only at weekends, it is sufficient to use fewer PV panels and larger capacity accumulators. The accumulators are sufficiently charged during the week.
- Do we really always need to be sure that it is possible to switch the appliance on or does it not matter to us if there is not enough power in unfavourable weather (usually in winter)? In the latter case, fewer PV panels and smaller capacity accumulators will suffice.
Possible Sunnywatt Island configuration and type designation:
- Maximum long-term output power
Select power according to your appliances.Sunnywatt Island 600……………………………… 600W
Sunnywatt Island 1000…………………………….1000W
Sunnywatt Island 2500…………………………….2500W - Number of Sunnywatt 180W PV panels
Under standard testing conditions, Sunnywatt 180W photovoltaic panels have a power of 180W. They supply electricity also in unfavourable weather, but much less. In a year, one PV panel produces approximately 162kWh of energy.1P – 8P………………………………1 – 8 PV panels - Capacity of accumulators
Greater capacity ensures better functioning when PV panels do not supply enough electricity.40………………………………40Ah / 24V
55………………………………55Ah / 24V
75………………………………75Ah / 24V - Overvoltage protection
Greater capacity ensures better functioning when PV panels do not supply enough electricity.L………………………………YES
